Wight Eagles Ladies FC are delighted to announce that Sammie Mumford has been appointed as Ladies manager for the remainder of the season.

She replaces Dan Verstraeten who recently left the role by mutual agreement, citing work commitments.

Sammie knows the players and coaching staff well, having worked as assistant to Dan this season.

She has a lot of experience in the game playing for Shanklin Ladies when they played in the Southern Region.

Sammie has also been part of the Isle of Wight Ladies Island Games side for a number of years.

Wight Eagles Chairman Mike Ross said: “We are delighted to announce Sammie as manager. She has our full backing to carry on with the squad this season and continue to develop our talent and youth coming through.

Sammie will be supported by assistant manager Richard Mumford, her husband.

Dan will continue working closely with Sammie in his role as Director of Football.

Sammie said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of players to begin my coaching journey. I’m super excited to learn and develop alongside them.”
