Alongside the annual Beach Football Tournament at Appley on 26 July, the Island beach football team played a south of England team, with U16s keeper Eloise selected to play in goal. And it was due in no little part to her heroics that the IW team won, offering them the tantalising prospect of possibly playing in the European beach football championships in Portugal next Easter.
U16s manager Scott Ronan said “It’s a great tribute to Eloise’s skills. She has been great in goal for the U16s all through the season. We wish her well if she gets to go to Portugal next year.”
